Whether you’re hoping to have your hair professionally styled for spring at the Hairsay salon in Long Island, or opting for a DIY approach, we’re dishing on all the juicy details about spring’s hottest hairstyles. Give your hair a much-needed spring pick-me-up by trying on one of the spring trends featured
below.
1. Flirty scarf paired with an up-do. For a flirty look that says “hello spring” in a glamorous, ladylike manner, a floral printed scarf is second to none. Opt for a scarf in a bright, floral pattern to give the most spring-like pop to your hairdo. The tied scarf will be the star of the show; therefore it’s best to go with a simple up-do like a chignon, beehive or a voluminous bun to avoid looking overly fussy for a casual spring day.
2. Braided ponytails. Last year was all about braided headbands. 2013 will be the year of the braided ponytail. There are plenty of ways to work this trend into your spring hairstyle rotation. You can simply opt for a low braided ponytail if you’re short on time. If you have a few moments to spare you can make four braids starting from the crown and zigzag them across, secured with bobby pins and use a hair tie to gather the remainder of the braids with the rest of the ponytail. Another braided ponytail style that will be hot for spring is the voluminous “bumped” ponytail with chunky braided sides.
3. Loose Waves. The sexy bedhead look is always in style, but this spring’s trend is a neater version of the sexy hairdo. To get this in-demand look, wind random sections of hair around a one inch curling iron, making sure to wrap along the outside of the barrel without using the clasp to clamp the hair down. Hold for five seconds and slowly let go of the curl and repeat throughout the rest of the hair. Mist hair with a flexible hold spray, turn hair upside down and gently shake out the curls, using your fingers to loosen them.
