Worst performances of all time at the Grammy’s

The Grammys provide a way to celebrate music and artist achievement. Once a year, an awards show is held to honor those who have achieved success in the music industry. During music’s biggest night, numerous artists perform live with millions of people watching. Unfortunately, some performances don’t live up to the hype. Out of all the performances, Nicki Minaj’s 2012 spectacle was the worse. Her performance of “Roman’s Revenge” was confusing and bizarre.

For those who don’t know, Roman is Nicki’s British alter ego. During the first part of her performance, she was pretending to be Roman while confessing her sins to a priest. While Nicki may think her Roman character is interesting, most of the population does not. In fact, most people who were watching the Grammys just assumed Roman was Nicki rapping in a British accent. She falsely assumed that people would understand the story behind her performance. Most people questioned what was happening at the time. The performance was a lot to take in. Besides being difficult to understand, Nicki was full of manic energy and hard to watch. Many found the Catholic Church imagery to be offensive, and it was obvious that she lip-synced most of the performance. For these reasons, Nicki Minaj holds the title for the worst performance of all time at the Grammys.

Another notably bad performance happened in 1990 during a Milli Vanilli performance. Milli Vanilli was one of the biggest bands during the early 90s. As a result, they disappointed a lot of fans during their performance of “Girl You Know It’s True.” The band was caught lip-syncing to a prerecorded track and received a great deal of criticism the following day.
